Sabato 28 maggio (ore 23.00 – ingresso gratuito) l’Istanbul Cafè di Squinzano (Le) ospita i Doomraiser che presenteranno i brani del nuovo disco “Mountains of Madness”. In apertura L’impero delle ombre.
Nati con l’ossessione e l’intenzione di omaggiare e tributare la musica e la grande famiglia del doom metal e del rock psych occulto, i Doomraiser hanno innalzato con forza e personalità il loro altare alle sacre e dark heavy band di ieri e di oggi, fondendo doom cinereo, rock acido e torbide armonizzazioni psichedeliche. I Doomraiser sono una feroce e fumosa macchina da guerrra che parte da Black Sabbath, Pentagram e Goatsnake per aggiungere stordenti tocchi psych ed uno charm ipnotico che sa tanto di progressive e torbidi anni 70. Dopo il secondo disco, l’acclamato Erasing the Remembrance, il nuovo lavoro del gruppo romano è un oscuro, nero e possente macigno heavy doom, intitolato Mountains of madness. Il materiale finito sull’album resta pesante e ossessivo, seppure compaiano nuovi elementi, fluidi ed obliqui. Riff mammut, drumming preciso e tribale, linee di basso mastodonitche, vocals mai così avvolgenti. Mountains of madness riconferma i Doomraiser come un carrarmato sonoro, sinonimo di garanzia e qualità per gli amanti del classic doom, una sorpresa per l’evoluzione mutante del nuovo sound, più ricco e articolato. Cinque tracce di fangoso, tentacolare, soffocante psycho doom. L’immagine di copertina, come per il secondo album, è opera dall’artista Stefano Scagni. Perfetta visualizzazione dell’enigmatico concept che si cela dientro il titolo e le lyrics del disco.
